Urban Visions

New York City has long been a haven and muse for photographers — from Stieglitz and Abbott to Arbus and Winogrand. I came to it as an outsider, raised on the West Coast, where driveways were tidy, and strip malls defined the landscape. Now, living just a few hours away by train, I visit whenever I can. These photographs were made during those trips: the city in constant transformation, perpetually building upon itself, electric and restless.
