Day 6
I am on my way home! I am writing this in the Moynihan Train Hall, Penn Station while waiting for my train back to Providence. Yesterday was a rest day. My knees needed some time off, so I spent the morning resting and catching up on some backend work on this website—there is almost always something to be done.
After cleaning up the apartment — an essential task if you want to be invited back again — I headed to the Met Cloisters. The Cloisters is a branch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art dedicated to European medieval art and architecture. I have had some success making images there on previous trips. It is a short walk from the apartment, so my knees weren't very stressed. I did not want to spend the entire day in the apartment.
I was not as successful as on my previous visits. Like many other experiences this last week, the museum was packed with visitors. Getting a shot almost anywhere in the museum, including the gardens, was a challenge! I frequently had to wait for a break in the stream of visitors and quickly take a shot. Ultimately, I made very few images, and most were poor. In the gallery below are two images with more than one version. I though it might provide some insight of the capabilities of the Hipstamtic app and provide a look at my process for finding the right look for each image.
I am looking forward to arriving home and just being still.
